Hi! 👋 I'm Abdulaziz Al Jaloud
and I like building things.
How it started
Started with a home server running 30+ Docker containers before I even knew proper programming. Learned infrastructure the hands-on way.
My journey began backwards - managing a home server and wrestling with docker containers before I even understood what a class or struct was. The old Dell desktop I had converted into a server became my first production environment, running over 30 containers and teaching me more about real-world infrastructure than any textbook could. Every service I self-hosted was another piece of the puzzle, building a foundation in systems that would shape my approach to software development.
How it's going
CS student at UCLA with a Film & TV minor. Full-stack developer focused on building fast and learning everything along the way.
Currently studying Computer Science at UCLA with a minor in Film & TV, I'm combining my love for creating and tempering it with my perfectionsim. While my foundation started in infrastructure, I've expanded into full-stack development and systems architecture. I build projects fast, and this speed has meant I need to learn everything to do it on my own. From creating complex backend systems and to compelling user experiences and everything in between.
Projects
Here's a collection of things I've built - some thriving, some retired, all part of the journey.
Liqa (لقاء)
A comprehensive event management platform built for Saudi Arabia, featuring digital tickets with QR codes, calendar integration, and a seamless bilingual user experience.
Nuqsh.org
Developed and deployed a full-stack SAAS platform empowering a non-profit's mission in education.
Tarwim
Collaborated with a UCLA PhD researcher to develop a specialized Arabic transliteration engine. Built a web platform that converts Arabic text to English phonetics, enabling linguistic research and cultural preservation.
Saudi Student Hub
Connected Saudi students before gracefully retiring. Taught me more about community than code.
Slips
Built a ticketing platform that found its wings. Now under new stewardship and thriving - sometimes letting go is the best path forward.
Docker Graveyard
Where my 30+ Docker containers went to rest. Each crash was a lesson, each restart a victory.
Writing
I created this website to be a personal space where I could write about the things I would like to read myself. I draw topics from my experiences and my struggles so we could learn together.
Build Fast, Break Fast
A personal reflection on the "Build Fast, Break Fast" philosophy—a mindset I've developed through years of building projects. Instead of spending months perfecting features nobody wants, I advocate for rapid development and early idea validation.
